"Ark of Light" is a traditional ketubah of gold, blue, and burnt orange that elegantly incorporates Jewish symbolism into an ornately jeweled ark that surrounds the ketubah text. The ark represents the holy house of the Torah and the design intimates the chuppah, or wedding canopy, under which a Jewish bride and groom marry. In this design by Micah Parker, at the ark's beacon, in the center at the top, is the Star of David. Letters of the Hebrew alphabet signifying the Ten Commandments are draped to the left and right. The light of two Shabbat candles ? one for the bride and one for the groom ? reflects from the golden jewels on either side of the ketubah text. The phrase, "Where you will go, I shall go," appears in Hebrew above and in English below the text.
